Profile
Lisette Boer is a poet and educator whose teaching spans higher education, K–12, and community settings, from first-year writing seminars at The New School to poetry workshops and early literacy programs. She brings a student-centered approach to writing instruction, shaped by years of work with learners across a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and levels of preparation, and by a commitment to meeting each writer where they are.
A doctoral student in English Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, she studies feedback practices in creative writing, and she holds an MFA in Creative Writing, with a minor in Transmedia and Digital Storytelling, from The New School. Her creative work has appeared in venues such as LEVITATE, Folio, and The Disoriental, and she stays active in her field through reviewing, service, and presentations with national organizations including NCTE, AATC, and AERA.
