Profile
Julian Mancia teaches in the Parsons BBA program and is a Founding Partner of Agency, a transformation company that pairs AI with human agency on clients' most pressing strategic work. In the classroom, his focus is the critical thinking the next generation of business leaders will need to have agency in their careers, especially as AI supplies more of the answers. He asks students to discover their own process rather than follow a prescribed one.
Before Agency, Julian spent a decade as Managing Director and Futures Practice Lead at ?What If! Innovation (acquired by Accenture in 2019), creating new strategies and products for Disney, Google, FedEx, AB InBev, CHANEL, JetBlue, and many others. He began his career as a strategy consultant at Accenture and was on the founding team of a mobile messaging startup. He writes about business, AI and human agency on his Substack, Productively Contrarian.
Julian graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan with a BSE in Industrial & Operations Engineering and a minor in Economics.
Outside of work, he spends time reliving his hockey glory years on rinks and ponds across the US, and keeping his pilot's license current. Everything else—hobbies, obsessions, side projects—inevitably turns over about every three months.
