Jaime Arredondo is an independent artist with and MFA in Painting from Yale University, and is a scholar of Mesoamerican art and culture.
He has participated in group shows and one person shows in New York City and in the Southwest.
Most recently he had a one person show at Arkansas Tech University of his illustrations on the Popol Vuh the Mayan Creation Myth of the Universe.
He has lectured throughout New York state for the NYS Council for the Humanities on Mexican Muralism, and since 1998 has been teaching a course entitled, "Of Fire and Blood: Art and Mythology of Mexico", at both NYU and The New School University.
In 2009 his paintings of flowers were published as stamps for the United Nations and dessiminaged world-wide.
In 2015 he was commissioned to create 36 mosaics based on his flower paintings for a permanent art project for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority that was installed at the Zerega Station in the Bronx, and entitled "Garden of Earhtly Delights".
He continues and live and work in Long Island City.
