Faculty

Eva Perez de Vega is an architect, designer and educator, co-founder of e+i studio a multispecies design practice based in Chinatown NYC. She holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, School of Architecture (ETSAM) specializing in Building Structures and has a PhD in Philosophy from the New School For Social Research, with a certificate in Gender and Sexuality Studies (GSS). She also has professional training from the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance in New York.

At the New School she leads the multispecieslab collective, a cross-disciplinary initiative that explores design and research through a more-than-human lens. 

With e+i studio and through academia Eva advocates for rethinking human exceptionalism by engaging architecture as a multispecies practice, to choreograph environments that enmesh aesthetic innovation with ecological empathy. These themes are explored in her publication Choreographing Space and the Venice Biennale exhibit Project Speciation, which join philosophical thought with the practice to critically address the role of human exceptionalism in architecture and the climate crisis. Eva has presented work at the World Congress of Architects in Copenhagen, the British Society of Aesthetics in Oxford and co-chaired multiple panels on the climate crisis, animal ethics and ecofeminism.
