With over fifteen years experience working with fashion and beauty brands, Emily Wardwell is currently the Principal at Wardwell Design Studio, a boutique design studio located north of New York City in Hastings On Hudson, NY.
Emily started her design career as an editorial designer with the redesign of TeenVogue. She was the art director on the 2005 full redesign of the Almay brand staged by Revlon. Shortly thereafter, Emily returned to Conde Nast to design in the art department for Vogue, Vogue Living, Fashion Rocks, Glamour and the series of coffee table books; Vogue Living:Houses, Gardens, People [Knopf, 2007], The World in Vogue: People, Places, Parties [Knopf, 2009] and Extreme Beauty in Vogue [Skira, 2009].
In 2008, Emily founded Wardwell Design Studio. The boutique design studio specializes in fashion, lifestyle and beauty branding, museum exhibition design with a strong focus on the design of publications for both large and small publishing houses. Projects have included Herb Ritts: The Golden Hour [Rizzoli, 2010] and It's Modern: The Eye and Visual Influence of Alexander Liberman [Rizzoli, 2013] for Charles Churchward, Tory Burch In Color [Abrams, 2014] for Tory Burch, Harper's Bazaar MODELS [Abrams, 2015] and Harper's Bazaar: 150 Years [Abrams, 2017] for Harper's Bazaar, The Coveteur: Private Spaces, Personal Style [Abrams, 2016] for The Coveteur; Elemental Energy: Crystal and Gemstone Rituals for a Beautiful Life [Harper Elixir, 2017] for Kristin Petrovich creator of sjal skincare; Dream, Design, Live [Abrams, 2018] for Paloma Contreras, Tony Duquette's Dawnridge [Abrams, 2018] for Hutton Wilkinson and the catalog A Peculiar Paradise, Florida Photographs by Nathan Benn [pH, 2018] for Nathan Benn with Charles Churchward. The studio is currently working on the exhibition design for the accompanying show at HistoryMiami Museum, opening November 8th, 2018.
