Cynthia Elmas

Profile

Cynthia Elmas teaches Integrative Seminars 1 an 2, as well as ESL courses at Parsons. I also do similar things at Pratt Institute.

I have been a dancer since the 1990s, and am currently studying figure and abstract painting at the Art Students League.

My undergrad major was French Literature, with minors in Art History and Anthropology at Rutgers University. There I also did graduate work in Art History. My MA in Teaching English as a Second Language is from Hunter College, and I've been teaching it at all levels for a few decades, to various populations in New York. I also did a stint as Assistant Editor of RES: Anthropology and Aesthetics, which is an academic journal sponsored by the Peabody Museum at Harvard.
