Camilo Trujillo is a Colombian architect, interior designer, researcher, and educator based in New York. His work explores how time, use, and material systems shape space across scales. Through an understanding of material cycles of growth and decay, his practice embraces wear, maintenance, and repair as forms of spatial knowledge. Working through visual and spatial representation, hands-on material experimentation, full-scale making, repetition, layers, and texture, he designs spaces that sit between intention and transformation, where systems are established, but change is allowed to happen. He approaches interiors not as finished or static objects, but as living infrastructures shaped by human and nonhuman forces, able to age, adapt, and hold memory. Through his practice and teaching, he challenges cultures of disposability and encourages an approach to design in which transformation, decay, material exploration, and maintenance become active conditions for developing thoughtful and environmentally responsive spaces.
