    Anthony Deen

    Profile

    An architect by training, Anthony is a co-founder of the MFADT program with Sven Travis and was the program's first director. His courses include Design Studio, Thesis Studio and classes in immersive media and VR. In his professional work, Anthony helped found The Lab at Rockwell Group and has been designing and building immersive environments and media installations since 2004. Anthony's recent clients include Central Park, the NYPD, NYU Langone Health and the World Trade Center.

    A graduate of the Cooper Union, Parsons School of Design, and the NSSR. Anthony's post graduate work is in narrative built environments. With a diverse set of interests, his MA work focused on the history of modern Japan and China. Anthony's architecture thesis was authored in VRML, a form of real-time immersive digital technology that predates today’s gaming engines. Anthony holds several design patents; his work has won the Cannes Gold Lion; was listed in Interior Design Magazine's 2025 100 Top Designs, and is included in the National Design Museum collection. Anthony also served as a member of the EPA’s Gowanus Community Advisory Group, and co-founded Gowanus By Design, a community based urban design advocacy.
