Profile

Design educator with extensive international experience in fashion design practice, research, and curriculum development. Currently Assistant Professor of Fashion and Chair of Curriculum Development at Parsons School of Design, with a strong track record of mentoring MFA and BFA students, leading industry collaborations, and contributing to innovative fashion education. Experienced in both professional design practice and academic leadership, with a portfolio spanning high-fashion design, artisanal projects, and international exhibitions. Fluent in English and Norwegian, with a commitment to fostering creative excellence and advancing the next generation of fashion talent.

Norwegian-born designer, artist, and educator with a multidisciplinary background in art, textiles, and fashion. Educated in Norway, England, and the United States, she holds an MFA in Fashion Design and Society from Parsons School of Design, where she currently teaches in both the MFA and BFA programs.

Aina's creative foundation is rooted in art and textile studies, which continue to inform her approach to fashion as a medium of expression, narrative, and material innovation. Her work explores the dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design, often merging hand techniques with emerging technologies.

She has taught at several leading institutions, MFA program Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and the Academy of Art University. In the classroom, she emphasizes research-based and sustainable practices, encouraging students to critically engage with materiality, identity, and the future of fashion.

Her design work has been shown at New York Fashion Week and exhibited internationally, including at the Future of Fashion exhibition in Beijing, China. Her collections have been featured in Vogue, Wallpaper, WWD, and Elle.
