Juliette Cezzar

Profile

Juliette Cezzar is a designer, educator, and author based in New York City. She is a tenured Associate Professor of Communication Design. She directed the BFA Communication Design and BFA Design & Technology programs from 2011-14. She has played a role in the design and development of several programs at the New School, including MS Data Visualization, MPS Communication Design in Digital Product Design, the BA in Journalism + Design at Lang, and Creative Publishing & Critical Journalism at NSSR, where she taught for seven years. At the university level, she served as co-chair of the university-wide Financial Transparency Council, and beyond the university, she served as faculty lead for Parsons’ Cornell Tech partnership from 2018–22. 

Juliette is also known for her leadership in graphic and communication design and the arts. From 2014–16, she served as President of AIGA NY, the largest chapter of the oldest and largest professional membership organization for design, and from 2018–2025, she served on the board of The Brooklyn Rail, an independent arts organization. She has also written extensively about the field of communication design, including two books, The AIGA Guide to Careers in Graphic and Communication Design and Designing the Editorial Experience. Her design practice, e.a.d., has created award-winning digital, physical, and brand experiences for hospitality, media, museum, and education clients. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech and an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University.
