“The New School teaches you to think critically,” says Muhammed Korany, MA International Affairs ’17. “That’s an invaluable skill. It’s one that you can’t pick up just from a course. Thinking critically is the culture that The New School's graduate programs in International Affairs breed: that culture of empathy, being able to talk, understand, and think about situations before acting.”
Korany currently works as a protection assistant with the Danish Refugee Council, a nonprofit organization operating a refugee camp in Greece.
“I need to be challenged in life, need to be doing something of purpose,” Korany says, “and I think that’s something I learned at International Affairs, something I learned at The New School.”
