Profile
Pooya Ghorbani is the Principal Economist at the New York State Homes and Community Renewal, the state agency tasked with promiting and preserving affordable housing. He is also part-time faculty at the Milano School of Policy, Management, and Environment. He holds a Ph.D. and master’s in public and urban policy, both from The New School.
Pooya’s research covers topics related to housing and urban economics with a focus on inequality. He has been working for the New York State and New York City governments for more than a decade. His research has been published in academic journals and policy platforms. Pooya teaches Public Finance and Fiscal Management at the Milano School.
