    Profile:

    Melissa Monroe, part-time assistant professor of Liberal Studies, has previously taught English and linguistics at Stanford University and Fordham. She is interested in stylistics, translation and the intersection of literature and science.  She is the author of Machine Language  (1997) and On Trepanation and Human Nature  (forthcoming), and her poems have appeared in various journals, including Parnassus: Poetry in Review, Raritan, Ploughshares  and A Public Space.
