    Profile

Cellist, Amy Kim has given solo recitals worldwide including the recent performance of Beethoven’s three Sonatas at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.  She has performed to rave reviews in Europe at the Schumann Haus, the Franz Liszt Hochschule, the Salzburg Mozarteum, Schloss Elmau, and in Ljubljana, Slovenia where she has been invited to reappear.  American audiences have heard her perform as soloist with the Little Orchestra Society, the Killington Music Festival Orchestra in Vermont, and with the Dallas Chamber Orchestra in Texas.  The Sun Post of Miami, Florida said of her solo performance with North Miami Beach Symphony ""Ms. Kim proved to be an artist of sensibility.  Her playing delighted the audience.""
Ms. Kim has collaborated with distinguished pianists Jacob Lateiner and Seymour Lipkin on the major recital repertoire and gave numerous concerts in New York City.  Her performances also include recitals in Iowa under the auspices of the Des Moines Women's Club, and in Chicago on the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, a live syndicated radio broadcast.
In addition to her concert career, Ms. Kim is a dedicated teacher and believes it is a great privilege to ""train and inspire the next generation of professional cellists.""  She is currently on the faculty of the Next and the Prep divisions of the Mannes College The New School for Music in Manhattan.
Ms. Kim is a graduate of the Juilliard School where she studied with Channing Robbins and Harvey Shapiro.  She is playing on a Lorenzo Ventapane cello made in the 18th century.
