    Joe has appeared on Broadway in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Accidental Death of an Anarchist by Dario Fo, Dinner at Eight,The 1940's Radio Hour, Happy End and The Play's the Thing. Off-Broadway in A Midsummer Night's Dream at TFANA, The Boys Next Door (Drama Desk Nomination)Golden Boy, Conversations in Tusculum by Richard Nelson, Filumena, Boy Meets Girl, A Memory of Two Mondays by Arthur Miller and Eugene O’Neill’s Hughie at The Goodman Theater.

    His directing credits include OneSlight Hitch by Lewis Black, The 39 Steps, As I Remember it at the Kennedy Center, Heaven Can Wait at Westport Playhouse, A Cup of Coffee by Preston Sturges and The Firebugs by Max Frisch.

    His many film appearances include Presumed Innocent, The Deer Hunter, Big Business, Matewan, The Naked Gun, Natural Born Killers, Chances Are, Changing Lanes, F/X, Benny & Joon, The Pope of Greenwich Village, Brewster's Millions, Batman Forever, The Flamingo Kid, Ironweed  and Splash. His television work includes Elementary, The Bronx is Burning (as Yogi Berra), Law & Order, ER, LA Law, Chicago Hope, Rosanne and The Practice.

    Joe has conducted master classes and workshops at The Strasberg Institute (NY), University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Oberlin College, Tulane University, Yale School of Drama, Brown/Trinity Consortium, Bowling Green University and UCSD La Jolla.

    He has an MFA from the Yale School of Drama.
