Ms Quezada, a 2014 recipient of the New School's Distinguished University Teaching Award, has trained with Kristin Linklater, Andrea Haring and studied under Patsy Rodenburg, Cicely Berry and Catherine Fitzmaurice.
Ms. Quezada has performed principal roles with regional opera and musical theater companies throughout the United States, including Houston Grand Opera, Brooklyn Academy of Music, American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, American Music Theater Festival in Philadelphia, Piano Summer Festival in New Paltz, Teatro Tivoli in Barcelona and on Broadway. While touring the U.S. as a Community Concert artist, Alba Quezada conducted master classes in most of the cities in which she performed. Her concert work includes performances throughout the U.S. and Europe, with recitals in Spain, France, Switzerland, and the French West Indies. Ms. Quezada is the featured soprano on the 2005 Grammy and Latin Grammy nominated recording, Exagonos (Cambria Music) by the late Mexican composer, Carlos Chavez, with the South West Chamber Music Orchestra. Ms. Quezada has worked in television, radio, and film. Credits include: Yes, Giorgio! with Luciano Pavarotti, and For Heaven’s Sake, a student film Academy Award Winner in 1982.
