Description:
This course is designed to give students a first exposure to the studio and to the exploration of printmaking. Students will learn a range of approaches using a variety of printmaking methods and media; hone their making and critique skills; and employ and enhance their knowledge of drawing, design and color. The class will also make use of a variety of NYC resources. This is an excellent class for any student interested in starting out in printmaking. Sections of this course may focus on different methods, themes or approaches:

Introduction to Printmaking This section will focus on etching, lithography, and screenprint.

Introduction to Printmaking: New Methods This section will focus on etching, dry point, and monotype using water- based materials and innovative methods.
