Description:
Housing is the central theme to Design Studio 3. Through case study analysis, environmental testing, spatial analysis and research and analysis of modes of inhabitation, the semester-long project concludes with the development of housing protoypes. The focus is on the role of collective housing typologies in the city, and the ways in which buildings engage their occupants, the city, and the environment. The concept of Community is postited, interrogated, and ultimately embedded in the final results of the course.
