Description:
This is a sequel to the accelerated introductory course. Familiarity with basic grammatical structures is assumed. Students read cultural texts and acquire the knowledge to meet most practical writing needs (brief descriptive paragraphs, simple letters, summaries of day-to-day activities). Special attention is given to improving students' ability to understand spoken German and to hold sustained conversations. Prerequisite: German Introductory Intensive, German Level 2, the equivalent, or permission of the instructor.
