New York City has seen a dramatic increase in students graduating from high school and applying to college. Despite this encouraging news, many of these students will never earn a college degree. Today's generation, despite stronger academic success rates in high school, remains unprepared for the jump to college life. How can schools and communities better prepare their students for higher education? The Center for New York City Affairs, a strategic policy research institute within The New School's Milano School for International Affairs, Management and Urban Policy, will release an analysis of NYC's school and community-based college readiness efforts, seeking to implement a successful approach in helping students succeed. |
