The Summer Intensive Studies: Paris program allows you to experience this vibrant city from an insider's perspective by exploring the history of European art and design first-hand in the hundreds of museums and design studios throughout Paris. The program is open to all students who wish to deepen their art and design knowledge and skills in a rigorous academic environment. Classes meet at sites ranging from art and design exhibitions to architectural landmarks and parks throughout the city. Course work is complemented by weekend excursions and day trips in and around Paris.
Summer classes are held in diverse locations: outdoors, in museums, and at special exhibitions. Fashion illustration, photography, and some pre-college drawing and painting classes are held at ESRA (École Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle). The ESRA Studios are located at 135 Avenue Félix Faure 75015 PARIS.
Housing through Parsons is available for students enrolled in the four-week Pre-College program. Visit Summer Housing for details. Students in the two-week program or the four-week Adult/College-level program should email parishousing@newschool.edu for hotel options.
Students are expected to provide their own art supplies. Registrants will receive a list of required and recommended materials before the summer session begins. Expenses are estimated to cost $400.
Registration for Summer Intensive Studies: Paris begins in late fall. Visit Registration for more details. Early registration is advised.
Students may make their own flight arrangements to Paris or join the Parsons group flight that leaves from New York City. While Parsons staff do not travel on the flight with students, a Parsons staff member will meet this flight at the Paris airport and escort students to the dorms.
For more information about the Parsons group flight, please contact the summer program office.
To receive current rates, students must identify themselves as participants in the Parsons Summer Intensive Studies: Paris program.
