Pre-College and Continuing Studies
Parsons Summer, Pre-College Academy, and Continuing Education programs are housed together as Parsons SPACE. The SPACE programs offer open enrollment, nondegree study options in art and design for students of all ages and levels who want to take courses for credit or on a noncredit basis. Parsons SPACE classes are available in a variety of formats, settings, and schedules.
High school, college, and adult students can choose from two and four-week Summer Intensive Seminars (SIS) in New York City or Paris. Students interested in Architecture, Interior, and Lighting Design can enroll in the five-week Summer Studies in Constructed Environments at Parsons’ New York campus. Graduate students can join the two-week Graduate International Summer Program in Berlin offered by the Master's Program in the History of Decorative Arts. In addition, arts educators can spend three summers pursuing a Master of Science in Education through the Leadership in the Arts graduate degree program, which is offered in cooperation with the Bank Street College of Education in New York.
Providing diverse classes and certificate options for students in grades 4 through 12, Parsons Pre-College Academy meets Saturdays during the school year and for two weeks during the summer. Age appropriate courses range from fashion, graphic, and interior design to drawing, painting, cartooning, photography, and portfolio development.
Parsons Pre-College Scholars Program
Parsons offers long-term scholarship programs for New York City public high school students. Through scholarships and free events, the school strives to make the resources of Parsons accessible to a diverse student body.
Open admission, nondegree studio, history, and business-oriented courses in art and design for beginner adults and accomplished professionals are available through Parsons Continuing Education. Offered each semester, classes provide students with the technical skills and design training they need to begin or advance their careers and develop their artistic interests. Several courses are available online. Students can enroll in Parsons Continuing Education classes for credit or on a noncredit basis, or apply courses towards earning a Parsons SPACE certificate.
