Term:
Spring 2010
Subject Code:
GPSY
Course Number:
6273
This course will be an introduction to the clinical application of neuropsychology and neuropsychological asessment. While primary CNS disorders are discussed in regard to their clinical presentation and neuropsychological performance profiles, this course will primarily focus on the theory, administration, scoring, and interpretation of neuropsychological measures. Students will learn to use neuropsychological measures from the ground up, both in the adminstration of comprehensive neuropsychological batteries and in the use of brief screening batteries and individual measures. Measure selection and interpretation will be tailored to typical CNS and psychiatric disorders that the clinician may be expected to encounter in medical and psychiatric settings, including primary dementia, traumatic brain injury, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, depression and schizophrenia.
