Term:
Spring 2010
Subject Code:
GPHI
Course Number:
6576
The aim of the
seminar is a close reading of the integral text of the eight books of
Aristotle’s “Physics”, one of the most significant philosophical investigations
of nature, which Heidegger called the book of Western philosophical tradition.
We will discuss the main themes and topics of the treatise in both metaphysics
(first principles, cause and necessity) and natural philosophy (movement,
infinity, continuity, place and time, Zeno’s paradoxes).
