This course considers genealogies of contemporary globalization and theories about its effects reaching across questions of economy, society and politics. Our main concern is understanding how to frame ethnographic objects in the light of unsettled and unsettling processes of circulation and cascaded effects. The course draws on ethnographic materials as well as theoretical texts from social sciences other than anthropology.
