    Construction Update

With the fully repaired Academic Entrance (63 Fifth Avenue) now reopened, recovery and remediation continues for the below-street levels of the University Center, which were damaged by the water main break and flood of January 2014. A prospective schedule of repairs and re-openings:

    • September 15, 18, 22, and 25: The University Center will be closed at 10:00 p.m. to allow for electrical repairs.
    • End of 2014 fall semester: L2 (Kerrey Hall basement). New features will include a resident advisors’ meeting space, a revised art studio with sink and equipment, more flexible lounge space, an additional practice room, and an exercise studio added to the Fitness Center.
    • End of 2015 spring semester: L1. Will include two lecture halls, an Event Café, a large multipurpose room, and a bicycle storage space.

    Retail Space

CVS/pharmacy will occupy the University Center's retail space on the corner of 14th Street and Fifth Avenue. The CVS will operate 24 hours a day and provide a valuable service to University Center residents and New School students. The location will adhere to The New School's sustainability guidelines and feature displays designed by Parsons students in its prominent windows. Learn more.
