Award-winning videomaker, curator/programmer. Currently completing a documentary on the artist Seward Johnson. Most recent film, in collaboration with Roberto Guerra -- Design is One: Lella & Massimo Vignelli -- was the opening night film of the 2012 Architecture & Design Film Festival, had a 2-week theatrical run at IFC in NYC, had a 2-year contract with Netflix, is still available on I-Tunes and Amazon, and has been screened at festivals and other venues and had multiple international broadcasts and continues to have screenings internationally due to its "evergreen" quality.
Other projects: Line Producer, Regret to Inform, best documentary, Sundance, and nominated for an Oscar; Rabbit in the Moon, another award-winning film at Sundance; among others. Her own independent video work, Mixed Messages received numerous awards at film and video festivals, and was broadcast on public television.
Currently serving as Guest Curator for MoMA's Doc Fortnight (2017-- https://www.moma.org/calendar/film/3648) and 2018 and 2019.
Media programmer and curator: Curatorial Consultant, Reframe Collection, Tribeca Film Institute; Co-Director of the Margaret Mead Film and Video Festival; Programmer, Lincoln Center’s Scanners (The New York Video Festival); Series Curatorial Consultant, Reel New York, WNET series for independent filmmakers. Juror and panelist for New York State Council on the Arts and the Rockefeller Media Arts Fellowships.
Was awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant in 2018 and spent 4 months in South America, mainly in Peru, but with media-arts related travel to Montevideo and Buenos Aires. Completed a short film, Following the Thread, while there about indigenous weaving communities connected with the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco.
Writer on media and contemporary art for catalogs and other publications, including a contribution to the book Women, Art and Technology, MIT Press. Awards and honors include: Two Emmy Awards, CEC ArtsLink Fellowship, New York State Council on the Arts grant.
