    Alison Rice has worked in the field of English Language Teaching for over thirty years as a teacher, textbook author, teacher-trainer, and administrator. Her specialties are general ESL and Academic Reading and Speaking (for adults, college and pre-college students), and materials development. She has also taught Methods and Practicum courses at City University of New York and participated in professional development projects for novice and practicing teachers in the United States and abroad. She is the former Director of the International English Language Institute at Hunter College, City University of New York.

    Alison strongly advocates taking a creative and innovative approach to both classroom teaching and program management. The unifying thread in her work has been a consistent focus on and inquiry into learning: student learning, teacher learning, and reflective practice.
