Earn a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies in a program open to transfer students, adults, and other nontraditional undergraduates.
The New School offers the Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies as part of the university's suite of cross-divisional interdisciplinary undergraduate programs, designed to prepare our students for the new careers of the 21st century. This innovative program is administered by the Tishman Environment and Design Center. The program brings students beyond natural ecology and resource conservation to focus on urban ecosystems, sustainable design, and public policy issues like global warming.
The New School has always been proactive in responding to the great social issues of the day, and our commitment to environmental responsibility is in keeping with that tradition. The Environmental Studies curriculum is designed to allow undergraduates to study and work at the intersection of society and nature. Our innovative courses capitalize on the expertise of the university's faculties of social science, design, management, and urban policy.
