73rd annual parsons benefit raises close to $2.6 million, honors tory burch, lauren santo domingo, darren walker, and kehinde wiley

Honorees Lauren Santo Domingo, Darren Walker, and Tory Burch

WHAT: On Monday, May 23, 2022, The New School hosted the 73rd annual Parsons Benefit, honoring visionary figures in fashion, philanthropy, fine arts, and design that embody the university’s commitment to creativity, innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity. The evening recognized Tory Burch, Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, Tory Burch LLC; Lauren Santo Domingo, Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer, Moda Operandi; Darren Walker, President, Ford Foundation; and Kehinde Wiley, Visual Artist. 

Liz Rodbell, Steve Madden Group President, and Gena Smith, Chief Human Resources Officer, LVMH Inc., served as the Parsons Benefit Co-Chairs. 

This year’s Parsons Benefit also included a presentation of student work from recent graduates who previously were unable to show due to the pandemic. The live runway program featured the work of Cole Durkee, Tianqi Chen, Shuxaun Li, Kou Yanga, Zisu Tak, Karen Hesh and Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen. The Benefit also featured a live performance from recent graduates of The New School's School of Jazz and Contemporary Music.
