BRAVOS INSIDE THE ACTORS STUDIO RECOGNIZED WITH
EMMY 2000 NOMINATION FOR OUTSTANDING
NON-FICTION SERIES

(July 26, 2000 New York, NY) Bravos Inside The Actors Studio received its fourth nomination by The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Emmy Award for Outstanding Non-Fiction Series this past week. The nomination, which was announced on Thursday, July 20 in Los Angeles, is for the episode entitled Inside The Actors Studio: Kevin Spacey. The shows creator James Lipton (who also served as Executive Producer/Writer/Host for the series) will attend the August 26 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Pasadena, California. Inside The Actors Studio is taped in front of a live audience at New School University.
For each episode of Inside The Actors Studio, James Lipton interviews a celebrated actor, actress, or director, in-depth, about their life and their career. As part of the Actors Studio Drama School, students attend the interview and stay on after the interview for a classroom session with the guest. The show is taped and edited for later broadcast on Bravo, The Film and Arts Network.
Inside The Actors Studio: Kevin Spacey premiered on the network on Sunday, March 5, 2000 on the eve of Spacey being honored as Best Actor by The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences for his performance in American Beauty. Currently in its sixth season and with more than 80 shows to its credit, Bravos signature series continues to secure exclusive interviews with todays most accomplished performers. Inside The Actors Studio airs Sunday evenings at 8 PM/ET. Upcoming premieres include Harrison Ford (August 20) and Richard Dreyfus (September 10).
This is the fourth Emmy nomination for Inside The Actors Studio. The Bravo original series has also received two CableACE Award nominations for Best Talk Show, winning in 1997.
The Actors Studio Drama School offers a three-year M.F.A. program in Acting, Directing, and Playwriting. The School was created in 1994, when the New School joined forces with the prestigious Actors Studio.
