    Me Voy Pal Otro Lao

"Me Voy Pal Otro Lao" Is the first part of an ongoing series portraying a future Puerto Rico. It is created in garments, objects, and video narrative. In a politically unstable time, this work explores themes of mass migration, collective memory, climate change, and identity through a tropical futurist lens. The narrative is centered around the life of Nena, a working class young mutant in the Puerto Rico of 2117, auditioning to be part of a contest  Me Voy Pal Otro Lao. The winner gets to leave Puerto Rico, to live life in a place full of promises for new beginnings and hope for a better future.
