Space and Empathy: Design of a Hospital Patient Room for Emotional Well-Being

How can a space respond to a person's well-being? In today’s society, humans face unprecedented emotionally straining circumstances. In a world where technological connectivity is supposed to bring us together, people find themselves isolated in interior spaces, misunderstood and disconnected.

Exploring the concept of psychologically extreme environments, this project uses interior design to reframe the conventional in-patient hospital room, focusing on the emotional well-being of patients and their families, by acknowledging their emotional needs and empowering them during a sensitive time and in a sensitive situation.
