A native of Melbourne, Australia, Sarah Ann Gillies earned a bachelor’s degree in media and communications at the University of Melbourne before enrolling in the AAS Fashion Marketing and Communication program at Parsons’ School of Fashion. Before moving to New York to study at Parsons, Gillies had worked for a number of leading Australian womenswear labels and was signed as a deep house vocalist for the Vicious Recordings music label.
Following her graduation in 2018, Gillies was awarded the YOOX Net-A-Porter Group Marketing Prize and completed a six-month marketing internship with the group. Gillies recently joined The Rug Company—a leading global brand renowned for bringing together luxury fashion and interior design—as the U.S. PR and marketing coordinator. In this role, Gillies assists in developing marketing strategies, events, and strategic partnerships.
