The Healthy Materials Lab’s research agenda focuses on optimizing health and transparency in affordable housing. It works to eliminate toxins by transforming the way building materials are manufactured and by supporting the creation of new materials.
A three-year research collaboration, the first project is The Healthy Affordable Materials Project. This project will improve the lives of residents living in affordable housing by dramatically reducing the use of toxics in the building product supply chain.
This innovative collaboration combines the experienced leadership in toxic reduction strategies of the Healthy Building Network with the design research skills of Parsons. This project is positioned to create radical change in the building sector.
