    Justin Shoji Profile

For Justin Shoji, the Design and Management program was ideal, offering him “fluency in both the business and fashion worlds. I can crunch numbers and analyze spreadsheets, and I also appreciate creativity and design concepts.” Although Justin developed many of these skills in the classroom, his experiences as an intern proved equally important in helping him choose a career.

Shoji interned at Fashion File TV, where he worked on broadcasts of events during New York Fashion Week. He also explored the world of event planning as an intern at Mark Stephen Enterprises. But Shoji’s favorite internship, arranged by instructor and internship coordinator Steve Lindner, was at Diesel, the fashion retailer, which has an ongoing relationship with Parsons. There he joined the women’s wholesale group and “gained incomparable hands-on experience. I was able to assist in appointments with buyers and attend trade shows. There’s nothing better than seeing firsthand how things operate.” After graduating, Justin parlayed this internship into a full-time job, and today he is happily employed as an account executive in womenswear for Diesel.
