    Inseop Keum

    Projection of the Self

Keum's Fall/Winter collection was inspired by light and shadow. He began his process began by draping a basic shirt, blazer, and coat and then photographing them using a lamp in different locations. The lighting differences impacted the garments' timeless silhouettes and affected the eventual design.

Inseop Keum strongly believes that the most important aspect of menswear design is to highlight clean, strong, and sharp lines. In his designs he contrasts geometric lines with organic lines and incorporates soft, feminine fabrics such as silk chiffon. Keum also intends for his collection to show how these details can be uniquely incorporated into menswear. Keum used organic, flowing fabrics in order to create a collection with elements of both a couture and accessibility. Multiple layers of silk chiffon were used to represent the two- and three-Dimensional elements of shadows.
