Alternate Possibility for the Work #29

My practice combines references to architecture and furniture design with the traditional artistic vocabularies of sculpture and expressionistic mark making. I create wall-bound and freestanding sculpture from materials such as colored Plexiglas, wooden beams scratched and sullied by gestural marks, and partial plaster casts of body parts. These elements come to signify both utopian avant-garde movements like Soviet Constructivism and non-hegemonic living structures.
