• J. Reid A. Freeman


    Reid Freeman AIA is the founder and principal of REID architecture PLLC ( an award winning full service architecture firm based in Brooklyn, NY. He has over 25 years of experience in the field of architecture.  REID architecture PLLC is focused on cultural, institutional, and commercial projects throughout the U.S. and Europe. With an emphasis on light, materials, and context, REID creates unique solutions for new and existing structures that enhance human perception of the built environment and site. The practice places high value on his close collaborations with both clients and consultants. Reid’s work is heavily informed by his extensive teaching experience in design, building technology, and detailing and his background in studio arts and photography.

    Reid's past work experience includes six years as the principal architect and founder of Architecture Operations D.P.C., eight years at James Carpenter Design Associates Inc. as a senior associate,  eight years at Architecture Research Office as a senior associate, and time at  Eisenman Architects as a designer. Reid has taught classes in design and construction at Harvard University GSD, the Parson SCE at the New School, Pratt Istitiute GAUD, Princeton University, the Royal Danish Design School, and Tulane University. As an architectural photographer his work has appeared in Details, AA Files, Daidalos, Architectural Record, Architecture, and A+U.
