    Profile

Lisa Santandrea is particularly fascinated by the many ways culture manifests in personal style. In her studies on fashion history, she's focused on both the sartorial trends and the game-changing personalities that represent and push forward the zeitgeist. Her goal is to observe culture in all states of dress.

In addition to teaching at Parsons, she has worked at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, researching shows such as "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" and "Punk: Chaos to Couture." As a representative of Vogue magazine, she traveled the United States for a lecture series on Christian Dior's New Look. And she has appeared as an expert commentator on the television series Monumental Mysteries and Strange Inheritances.
