    David Young is designer and strategist whose work focuses on the discovery and creation of user-centered innovative and empowering applications of new and emerging technologies. His career — including a studio practice, at design agencies, and within large organizations — has ranged from the inspirational to the enterprise, and he works with both sides to ensure they get what they need to be creative and successful.
     
    He has lead a wide range of projects including: For Ford he lead ux, design, and innovation on a wide range of global mobility experiments. For BMW he developed future vehicle interaction concepts, as well as an enterprise-scale open innovation platform. For HP he lead the design of a company-wide UI strategy and vision, and for Microsoft he lead the design of a toolkit to help designers develop natural user interfaces. He’s also done extensive work for cultural institutions including the J. Paul Getty Museum and MOMA. 
     
    As a board member of AIGA/LA he lead the development of a community-based website that served as a model for the national organization. And at Art Center College of Design he taught and lead their New Media Research Group.
     
    His work has been recognized with a wide range of press and awards — including a Gold Medal from IDSA & Businessweek.

    Degrees Held:

    David holds an MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Media Lab, and a BA in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
