Profile:
Alex is one of two founding Partners at Sighte Studio, an architectural lighting design practice based in Brooklyn, NY. Alex leads Sighte Studio’s efforts in designing lighting for public spaces, landscapes, and infrastructure projects. She has collaborated with renowned architects and landscape architects including Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Michael van Valkenburgh Associates, and Maya Lin Studio. Prior to launching Sighte Studio, she spent several years as a Senior Associate, managing the design team at Linnaea Tillett Lighting Design Associates where she was the lead designer and project manager for award winning public work including Shoemaker Green at the University of Pennsylvania and St Patrick’s Island Park in Calgary, Alberta.
Alex teaches Graduate Lighting Studio 1 in the School of Constructed Environments at Parsons the New School for Design in New York City. She has also been a guest lecturer and invited critic at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture and Planning and at the University of Virginia Department of Architecture. Alex holds a Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design from Parsons and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Design and Technology from the University of Miami.
