Maarten Castelein is a Belgian-born fashion designer. In 2005, he joined Chloé in Paris, where he worked on the woven and jersey collections before moving to Anne Valérie Hash’s design team. He quickly became Anne Valérie’s right-hand and collaborated on couture collections, ready-to-wear, and the children’s line. From 2017 to 2019, he worked for IKKS, Yiqing Yin, and Poiret.
Castelein’s academic career started at the Geneva School of Art and Design HEAD-Geneva, where he was a faculty member for four years. He also taught at Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture in Paris.
Maarten received his bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design form The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 2002 and his master’s degree in Fashion Design from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Sint-Niklaas in 2005.
