Assistant Professor of Fine Arts
John Roach is full-time faculty at Parsons School of Design where he teaches a wide range of courses addressing the aesthetic, spatial, emotional, psychological and political impact of sound. Roach is an interdisciplinary artist whose work has been exhibited internationally in venues such as UrbanGlass in Brooklyn, NY; the 9e2 Festival of Art and Technology in Seattle, WA; Glazenhuis in Lommel Belgium; and the RMIT Gallery in Melbourne, Australia. His collaborative performance work has been featured in the UrbanGlass performance series, the Megapolis Audio Festival, and Postcards from the Gowanus at Cabinet Gallery. Roach has been awarded residencies at Marble House Project, Tacoma Museum of Glass, Glazenhuis, NARS, Triangle Artist Workshop, The Ionion Center, and Pilchuck Glass School. His curatorial projects include “The Internal Machine” at the Center for Book Arts in New York in 2017 and “Earlids” at the The Sheila C. Johnson Design Center at the New School in 2014.
