Damian Yee is a Jamaican-born creative director, costume and fashion designer, and professor who has lived and worked in Paris for more than 25 years. Yee began his academic career in 2011 at the Paris College of Art and L’Ecole Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne (ECSCP). He graduated from Ryerson University in Toronto with a BA in Fashion Design; he was also a finalist in the Concours International des Jeunes Createurs in his graduation year.
In the design studio, Yee has worked closely with fashion designers such as Martine Sitbon, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld, Hervé Leger LeRoux, and Barbara Bui. From 2004 to 2008, he worked at Guy Laroche and served as creative director.
Yee has created costume designs for Nicole Kidman in Grace of Monaco, Beyoncé’s world tour, Dita Von Teese, Kylie Minogue videos, and comedy musicals such as Mozart: L’opera Rock. He has also styled advertising campaigns for YSL, Gucci, Jil Sander, and Karl Lagerfeld.
