• Auralis Herrero-Lugo


    Auralís Herrero-Lugo is a sustainable fashion designer, product developer and educator with over 10 years of fashion design and production experience specializing in various niche markets such as: men shirting, women’s ready to wear and accessories with a focus on fair trade, sustainability, ethics and American manufacturing. She is currently working in her first sustainable manufacturing project in Puerto Rico called Retazo; a training program for factories and designers that will eventually become a slow fashion manufacturing coop.

    One of her many passions is helping build brands from the ground up with a sustainable approach to manufacturing and business development, she offers consulting services to individuals and brands looking to source and produce in the United States.  Auralís provides a range of design direction, product development, supply chain management, education and training  services with a focus on ethics and sustainability based on her knowledge, experience, resources and network acquired over the past 11 years working in the fashion industry. She can guide individuals and brands, big or small, at the idea stage or deep into their product life cycle  and direct them on a circular economy path that truly works for the triple bottom line: People, Profit, Planet

    She founded Auralistudio a sustainable resort wear brand with an Urban Tropical® aesthetic designed and manufactured between New York City and Puerto Rico in 2009. It was in that space that she practiced how to manage artisan collaborations for accessories and fair trade business practices, as well as sustainable product life cycle management and slow fashion manufacturing. Auralis currently teaches Accessory Industry and Product Development at Parsons School of Design and Ethical Fashion and Sustainable Product Lifecycle at The Fashion Institute of Technology.
