• Alexa Tsien-Shiang


    Alexa Tsien is an architectural designer and educator practicing in New York City. Her work focuses on issues of representation, aesthetics, and drawing as a process of projection and invention. She received a Bachelor of the Arts from Columbia University with a focus in Anthropology and Visual Art, and her Master’s degree from Yale School of Architecture, where she received the Moulton Andrus Award for excellence in art and architecture. Alexa trained in the offices of Barkow Leibinger in Berlin, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, and Bernard Tschumi Architects in New York. She is a founding member of Soft Firm, currently designing physical spaces for a Virtual Reality studio. She works independently in print media, such as photography and silkscreen and her work has been exhibited in New York and Berlin. Alexa has been a dedicated teacher as a fellow for several undergraduate and graduate courses at Yale, and currently, as a faculty member at the Cooper Union.
