Description of event: Every year the Union of Politics Students (UPSS) of the New School for Social Research hosts a Graduate Student Conference with the aim of providing a space for innovative scholarship on various topics related to the study of Politics. The topic of this year’s conference is “From Political Science to Politics.” The conference will aim to examine the concept of politics in its theoretical, practical, historical, scientific and methodological dimensions. The thematic of ‘politics itself’ is intended to engage the interdisciplinary spirit of our department, and facilitate a conversation among the differing subfields on the question of what constitutes politics.
