    David Krakauer

    Profile

    Has played with Continuum, Klezmatics, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Kronos Quartet, Musicians from Marlboro, John Zorn, Mendelssohn String Quartet, New York Philomusica, and Raphael Trio. Winner of 1985 Concert Artists Guild Award and 1984 Naumburg Chamber Music award (as member of Aspen Wind Quartet). Has served as principal clarinetist with New Haven Symphony, Martha Graham Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and American Symphony Orchestra. Recordings on Nonesuch, Opus One, CRI, Flying Fish Angel (with Itzhak Perlman and Klezmatics) and Musical Heritage labels. Leader of his own ensemble, Klezmer Madness! Faculty, Manhattan School of Music and Mannes College The New School for Music.
