    Profile:

    Namrata Goyal is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Psychology at the New School for Social Research. Namrata obtained her Ph.D. in cognitive, developmental and social psychology and MA in psychology at the NSSR. Namrata also holds an BA (honors) in psychology and communication studies from York University, Canada.

    Dr. Goyal's research interests include the influence of culture on motivation, reciprocity and gratitude. She examines cultural variation in the interpretation of and motivation behind reciprocal actions. Drawing on Indian and American samples she explores the meaning of gratitude and reciprocity in interpersonal relationships.
